Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Antonio Knowles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Sable (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Antonio Knowles!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jon Sable!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Chris Dean and Ben Watson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knowles blocks a head kick by Sable.

Sable darts in and clinches Knowles up against the cage.
Sable with an attempt at a knee that misses.
The referee calls for Knowles to work.
Sable using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Knowles has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Knowles tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Knowles takes a knee right on the jaw!

Sable lands a takedown into guard.

Knowles kicks Sable off and gets to his feet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Sable tries to close the distance and clinch but Knowles swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Knowles feinted with a counter takedown.

Sable moves in looking to clinch but Knowles pushes him off.

Sable throws a punch but it's blocked by Knowles.

Sable gets control of Knowles's arms and successfully pulls guard. Sable will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Knowles is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Knowles really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sable is looking to sweep but instead, Knowles has passed into half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Knowles forces Sable back against the cage and clinches.
A nice left hand lands by Sable.

Sable breaks the clinch.

Sable has taken the fight to the clinch.
Sable looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Sable lands a takedown into guard.
Knowles tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Knowles controlling the position.
Knowles's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Sable tries to close the distance and clinch up but Knowles swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Knowles went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Sable tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Knowles paws at him with a jab and circles away.
A solid leg kick lands there for Knowles.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sable throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Knowles tries to work over Sable's front leg with a kick but Sable checks it.

Sable gets tackled into the cage by Knowles. Knowles maintains the clinch.
The referee calls for Knowles to work.

Sable manages to break the clinch.
Sable lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Knowles circles away quickly and effectively.
Sable tries to clinch but Knowles moves out of range.
Knowles appears to be looking for a big counter.
Sable misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Sable looks winded!

Knowles drives through and clinches with Sable against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Jon Sable will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Antonio Knowles is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Jon Sable seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Knowles takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Knowles is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Sable can't fight it off and eventually Knowles manages to take the fight to the floor. Sable looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Knowles decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Sable lands a nice elbow.
Knowles throws an elbow but it's blocked.
A bit of stalling here from Knowles.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Sable.
Sable throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Knowles blocks it with crossed arms.
Knowles is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Sable breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Knowles slips a jab and a cross from Sable.
Sable doesn't manage to clinch there - Knowles circles away.

Sable shoots in and gets a takedown into Knowles's guard.
Knowles has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Knowles has his feet on Sable's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Sable is breathing heavily.
Sable tries to clinch but Knowles moves out of range.

and Knowles counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Sable!
Sable pushes Knowles away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Knowles gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Knowles misses with an attempted head punch from side control.

Knowles postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Sable seems a little lost for a moment, as Knowles dominates the positioning.
Knowles tries to score with some ground and pound. Sable controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Sable can't do much from the bottom here.

Sable explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!

Knowles fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Sable, pushing him back against the cage.

That was a close second round but I would say that Antonio Knowles will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!



Sable gets caught flat footed, as Knowles shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Knowles cracks Sable with a solid left hand.
Knowles is looking to work some ground and pound but Sable has wrist control.
Knowles not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
If it seems like I'm not saying a lot, it's just because Knowles is stinking the place up with his stalling.

Knowles has closed the distance and engaged Sable in a clinch.

Knowles breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Knowles closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Knowles thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Sable's head.

Knowles seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Sable is trying to get back to full guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Sable gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Sable is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.

Sable breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Sable looks to land a combination but Knowles avoids it well.
Sable takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Sable wants to stand and escape but instead Knowles has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Knowles distracts Sable with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Knowles is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Sable wants to get back to his feet but Knowles is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

And that's the end of the fight!
Antonio Knowles showed his dominance in that final round.
