PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Fingal Logan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andre Souza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Souza has chosen Brazil National Anthem as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Andre Souza was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Andre Souza!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Dmitry Maklakov and Aleksei Zolotukhin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Souza scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Logan doesn't seem bothered though.

Logan throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Souza counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Souza misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Logan.
Souza bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Logan's head.
Logan throws a low kick but it's checked well by Souza.
Souza looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Logan is fending him off so far but Souza persists. Nope, Logan circles away and we're back to standing.

Souza is keeping busy.
Logan is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Logan gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Logan gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Logan apologises and we restart here on the feet.

That was a close second round but I would say that Fingal Logan will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Logan.
Souza jabs Logan right on the nose. Logan blinks but takes it well.

Souza lands with a hook. Logan tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Souza unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Logan! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but Souza is unloading with more strikes now! Logan drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:10 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Andre Souza!
After the fight, Andre Souza was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
