PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Frost (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gen Anduw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Frost might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to God Save The Queen. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jack Frost!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Gen Anduw!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Gregory Folan and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Decent striking displayed by Anduw there.
Anduw thuds his right hand into Frost's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Anduw gets caught flat footed, as Frost shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Anduw utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Frost is looking to work some ground and pound but Anduw has wrist control.
Frost scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Anduw keeping full guard, as Frost tries to pass.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Frost accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Frost missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Frost looking to sit in guard and control but Anduw gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Anduw is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Frost working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Anduw doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Anduw manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Frost is breathing heavily.
Frost doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Anduw slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Frost striking off his back but it's not causing Anduw any problems.

Frost is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Anduw wants to stand but Frost is controlling his posture from full guard.

Frost has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Anduw can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Frost looking to hit a scissor sweep but Anduw is one step ahead there.
Anduw trying to control the position from guard on top but Frost is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Anduw must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Frost throws a series of punches but Anduw avoids them all with ease.
Anduw misses with the combination.
Frost doesn't manage to clinch there - Anduw circles away.

Frost has taken the fight to the clinch.

Frost manages to break the clinch.
A swing and a miss from Anduw.
Anduw misses with a jab, cross combination.
Anduw showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Frost.
Frost has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Anduw finds it's way round the side to connect with Frost's head.
Frost shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Anduw as he jumps to the side.
Anduw looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Frost stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Anduw.
Anduw connects with a crisp jab.


Jack Frost's cut is getting worse.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Anduw lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Anduw.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Anduw lands a jab to the head.


Jack Frost's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Anduw misses with a double jab.
Frost tries to bum rush Anduw with a series of wild strikes but Anduw uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Anduw throws a head kick that half lands.
Frost takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Frost changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Anduw tries to avoid it but Frost manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Anduw to the ground. Anduw escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Frost misses with an uppercut.
A lazy left from Anduw finds it's target.


Jeez, Jack Frost's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
Anduw is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Nice body punch from Anduw.
Anduw dips to his left and cracks Frost with an uppercut!

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Jack Frost's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Gen Anduw!
