The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kaiana tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Ling defends well and Kaiana ends up having to push Ling into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Ling misses with a combination

and Kaiana counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Kaiana is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Kaiana is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ling is just riding it out for now. Kaiana eventually gives up the hold.
Ling is trying to stand up here but Kaiana is controlling him well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
