The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ghita scores with a jab.
Hemler blocks a head kick by Ghita.

Ghita pushes Hemler up against the cage in a clinch.

Hemler is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Ghita wants to control but Hemler is keeping busy.

Hemler is working for a kimura but Ghita is defending it quite comfortably.

Hemler wants to control from the top but Ghita keeps moving.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Hemler shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Ghita's guard.

Ghita bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hemler's guard.

Hemler has his foot on Ghita's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ghita works his way back into a safe position though.

Ghita thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Hemler kicks Ghita off and gets to his feet.

Ghita lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Hemler throws a right hand that Ghita ducks under and follows up with a left that Ghita also avoids with ease.
Ghita lands a head kick. Hemler smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Ghita slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
A slapping body kick lands there for Ghita.
Ghita fails in his attempt to clinch.
Hemler blocks a head kick by Ghita.
Hemler is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Ghita tries a head kick but it misses.
Ghita's corner calls for a 1-2. Ghita obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hemler avoids the head kick by Ghita.
Ghita lands with a kick to the temple. Hemler shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Daniel Ghita is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Ghita throws a head kick that half lands.
Ghita misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Ghita lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Ghita lands a head kick. Hemler smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Ghita throws a head kick but Hemler moves out of range.
A left lands for Ghita.

Ghita lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Ghita closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Ghita catches Hemler with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Hemler shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ghita but Ghita pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Hemler changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ghita tries to avoid it but Hemler manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ghita to the ground. Ghita escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
A head kick misses from Ghita.
Ghita smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Hemler gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Ghita.
Ghita throws a sloppy head kick and Hemler moves out of range easily.
Ghita stalks Hemler and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Hemler's face. Hemler staggers backwards, shaken.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Ghita lands with a right hand.
Ghita throws a left that rocks Hemler and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Ghita dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Hemler regain composure!

Hemler is rocked!

It looks like Karsten Hemler has been cut.
Ghita scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Hemler is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Ghita can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
