Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sergey Lysenkov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roy Kannemeyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Roy Kannemeyer looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Chris Downing and George Francis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lysenkov throws a right and a left that both miss.
Sergey Lysenkov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Lysenkov lands a front kick.
Kannemeyer has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Kannemeyer closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kannemeyer lands in his opponent's guard.

Lysenkov wants to stand and escape but Kannemeyer is having none of it.

Lysenkov manages to escape and get back to his feet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

No joy there for Lysenkov, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Lysenkov tries to sprawl but Kannemeyer drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Lysenkov manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Kannemeyer keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Lysenkov has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Kannemeyer is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Kannemeyer gets control of Lysenkov's arms and successfully pulls guard. Kannemeyer will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Lysenkov is fighting to break Kannemeyer's control of his arms but Kannemeyer is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Lysenkov is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at The Iron Palace that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.

Lysenkov knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kannemeyer on the ground.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lysenkov pushes Kannemeyer off looking to stand but Kannemeyer dives back in and keeps control.

Kannemeyer tries to stand but can't do so whilst Lysenkov controls his leg.
Kannemeyer takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Kannemeyer uses his free foot to push down on Lysenkov's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Lysenkov.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kannemeyer loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Lysenkov scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Kannemeyer land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Kannemeyer stands and salutes the crowd.
