The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tunney fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Preston, pushing him back against the cage.
Tunney throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Tunney lands a right hand that snaps the head of Preston backwards.

Tunney lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Preston backwards.
Tunney lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Preston backwards.

Tunney displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Preston.

Tunney really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Preston. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Preston is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Tunney defends it well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Preston connects with a nice short shot to Tunney's temple.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Tunney can do anything to dispel that myth.

Preston has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Tunney has hold of Preston's hands but Preston slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Tunney is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Preston is nestled in close to Tunney, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Preston is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Tunney is just riding it out for now. Preston eventually gives up the hold.

Preston is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Tunney is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

After winning the bout, Will Preston thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
