Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mats Thoreson!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boulder doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Thoreson counters with a three punch combo that has Boulder backing up. Boulder nods at Thoreson to acknowledge the strikes.
Thoreson checks the leg kick nicely there.
Frank Boulder seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Boulder misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
A big right from Boulder misses.
Boulder looks for the body kick but Thoreson saw that one coming.
Boulder swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Thoreson is clearly looking to counter with head kicks.

Thoreson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Boulder's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Boulder is trying to maintain the position but Thoreson is very close to passing his half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Thoreson looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Boulder pushes Thoreson off looking to stand but Thoreson dives back in and keeps control.
Still in half guard, Thoreson seems content to control.
Thoreson's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
More stalling from Thoreson.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Boulder fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Thoreson manages to avoid it.
Thoreson wants to counter the offense by Boulder and move into the clinch position.
Boulder shoots in for a takedown but Thoreson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Thoreson in particular looking to stall.
Thoreson wants to free his trapped foot but Boulder is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Mats Thoreson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Nice takedown defense from Thoreson. No joy for Boulder on that attempt.

Boulder tries to lock up and control but Thoreson gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Mats Thoreson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Thoreson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
