PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rich Perez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tong Po (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Tong Po was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Po throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Po drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Perez can't keep his opponent in guard - Po advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Po got a little sloppy there for a moment and Perez has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Po has managed to get both his arms back between Perez's legs - danger averted.
Po wants to stand and escape but instead Perez has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Perez controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Perez accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Perez drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Perez jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Perez is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Po ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Po is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Perez's half guard.
Po really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Perez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
