Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Anderson Ken!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Chop Down!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Valeri Chadov and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown attempt by Ken or perhaps it was just good defense by Down, which made it look bad.
Ken closes this distance looking for a takedown but Down circles away.
Down looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Down throws a nice outside leg kick.
Ken walks into a left hand.
Ken doesn't manage to clinch there - Down circles away.
Down lands the left hand.
Down lands a nice leg kick that just misses Ken's sensitive parts.
Down thuds a left hand into Ken's body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Down leaves Ken with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Anderson Ken. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ken takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.


It looks like Anderson Ken has been cut.

Down connects with a body shot.
Down lands a nice leg kick that just misses Ken's sensitive parts.
Ken tries to clinch up but Down circles away and keeps his distance.
Ken has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Ken there as he acknowledges the shot.
Ken dodges the punch combination from Down.
A good leg kick by Down.
Down connects with a leg kick. Ken looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Down stuns Ken with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Ken walks into a jab.
Ken shoots for a takedown but Down saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Ken throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ken pulls out of a head kick attempt.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Down scores with a leg kick.
Down lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Ken takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Down fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Chop Down is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Down lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Ken takes one to the side of the head.
Chop Down seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Down fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Ken has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Down tests Ken's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Ken fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Down avoids it really well and circles away.

A chopping leg kick lands by Down.
Ken walks into a left hand.

Ken is breathing heavily.
Ken has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Down.
Ken takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.


Anderson Ken's cut is getting worse.
Ken takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Down scores with a nice right hand.
Down lands a jab.
Ken shoots in for a double leg but Down sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Down scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Down works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.


Ken is rocked!
Down with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

An inside leg kick lands from Down.

Oooooh!!! Down has knocked Ken down with a huge combo! Down steps away and waves a wobbly Ken back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Oh Ken is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Ken leaves his chin hanging out and Down seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Ken crumbles to the floor in a heap, and the referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Chop Down!
