PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Zack Ferrara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Jobber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jobber has chosen Loser by Beck as his entrance music. Zack Ferrara is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Zack Ferrara!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Joe Jobber!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Steve Smith and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ferrara changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jobber looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Ferrara is looking to take a break and control but Jobber is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Ferrara is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Jobber has escaped the position, nice work there.
Jobber felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Jobber really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ferrara. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
A lull in the action here as Ferrara stalls from top position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ferrara wants to control but Jobber is keeping him busy.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jobber can do anything to dispel that myth.
Ferrara is really struggling to control Jobber but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Ferrara tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Ferrara has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Ferrara is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Jobber has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Jobber is having to fend off submission attempts from Ferrara, who is looking to sink in the choke. Ferrara doesn't have the hooks in though and Jobber manages to reverse position! He's now on top, in his opponent's guard.

Jobber throws a strike but Ferrara rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Ferrara is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Jobber is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Ferrara throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Jobber was covering up waiting for the punch and Ferrara finishes the takedown easily into guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Ferrara is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Jobber knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Ferrara is stalling here. Jobber is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Ferrara seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Jobber has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
