The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Waugh has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Stephenson is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Waugh lands a nice shot that snaps Stephenson's head back.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The referee is keeping an eye on Waugh - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Bruce Waugh seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

You can see the frustration on Stephenson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Stephenson sneaks out the side door and pushes Waugh away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Stephenson wants to get back to his feet but Waugh is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Waugh stands up from Stephenson's guard - Waugh perhaps looking for a knockout.

Stephenson misses with a takedown attempt - Waugh sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Waugh is throwing punches like he's double parked. Oh my word! Huge right hand from Waugh shuts the power down on Stephenson. Lights out, game over! Waugh is your winner.
