Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Soto Rojas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rama Udo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Soto Rojas is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Soto Rojas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rama Udo!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, James Ackerman and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Udo tries to land a body kick

and Rojas decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Udo's guard.
Udo wants to stand but Rojas is controlling the position.
Udo is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Rojas stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Udo swivels though and keeps the full guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nice body kick there by Udo.
Rojas takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Udo changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rojas looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Udo is trying to get an arm triangle but Rojas is defending well.
My spies in England Fight Club MMA inform me that Udo has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
You can see the frustration on Rojas's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Rojas gets back to half guard.
Udo tries to pass to full mount but Rojas defends it.
Rojas tries to roll over but Udo keeps him under control.
Udo frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Udo jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Rojas manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Udo passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Rojas!

Rojas sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Udo passes to full mount!

Rojas defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Udo.
Rojas keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Rojas gets back to half guard.

Udo is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Rojas wants to control but Udo is keeping busy.
Udo wants to pass the guard but Rojas is defending well.

Rojas is looking for a sweep. Udo is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Udo is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Rojas doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Udo.
Udo prevents Rojas from improving his position.
Udo wants to pass the guard but Rojas is defending well.
Rojas wants to control but Udo is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Rojas is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Udo pulls his head out easily.

Udo is trying to work for a kimura but Rojas is defending well.
Udo tries to pass the half guard into mount. Rojas knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Udo is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Udo is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Rojas to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Rojas shrugs it off.

Udo wants to finish this one by submission but Rojas is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Udo.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rama Udo dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Udo connects with a crisp jab.
Rojas looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Udo with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Rojas to score with a decent uppercut.
Udo throws a jab when Rojas was well out of range.
Udo tries to bum rush Rojas with a series of wild strikes but Rojas uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Rojas walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Udo is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Rojas's half guard.
Rojas is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Udo's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Udo's back!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Rojas is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Udo has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Rojas has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Udo taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Rojas doesn't care though - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Soto Rojas!
