Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Joe Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sixpack Mountainhorn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sixpack Mountainhorn will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sixpack Mountainhorn!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Lou da Vinci and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mountainhorn as he jumps to the side.
Mountainhorn only half commits to the counter leg kick.
Johnson throws a body shot but no joy.

Johnson drives through with a takedown into Mountainhorn's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Johnson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Mountainhorn really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Johnson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Johnson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Mountainhorn tries to clinch but Johnson is having none of it.

Johnson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Mountainhorn avoids it really well and circles away.

Mountainhorn can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Johnson controls the pace.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Mountainhorn manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Mountainhorn is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Johnson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mountainhorn's guard.

Mountainhorn keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Mountainhorn connects with a right hand. Johnson shakes it off.
Mountainhorn thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Johnson if he has to take too many more of those.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mountainhorn fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Mountainhorn gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Johnson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Johnson seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Mountainhorn for as long as he can get away with.

Mountainhorn leaves Johnson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Johnson shoots in looking for a takedown but Mountainhorn manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Johnson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Mountainhorn scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Johnson doesn't seem bothered though.

Sixpack Mountainhorn showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Mountainhorn lands a leg kick that knocks Johnson off balance momentarily.

Johnson misses with a takedown attempt - Mountainhorn sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Mountainhorn connects with a leg kick. Johnson looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Mountainhorn works over Johnson's head and body with a nice combination.
Mountainhorn lands a jab to the nose.
Johnson doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Mountainhorn counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Sixpack Mountainhorn seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Mountainhorn misses the shot to the body.
Johnson shoots in looking for a takedown but Mountainhorn manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Johnson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Johnson swats away the attempt to clinch by Mountainhorn.

Mountainhorn fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Mountainhorn slaps away a takedown attempt from Johnson, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Mountainhorn connects with a nice cross there... Johnson is looking wobbly and Mountainhorn recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Johnson to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Mountainhorn jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!
