The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nichols lands a head kick. Cartwright smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

and Cartwright counters with a single leg into guard. Nichols didn't expect that.

Cartwright looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Cartwright prevents Nichols from standing back up.
Cartwright looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Nichols with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Cartwright is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Nichols is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Post fight, Cortland Cartwright stared into the camera and said 'The Greeks should be responsible for their own actions. But let's say they recklessly borrow money for a big party and now they have no hope of paying it all back. Should the banks who recklessly lent them the money be responsible for their own actions? Or should the EU continue to bail them out?'.
Scott Nichols spoke after the fight, saying 'I love to fight tough guys and i've made a good dollar from it so far. now it time to step it up another level but i doubt my manager can take me there. I'll be on the free agents list tonight.'.
