Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paddy Ward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lucia Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ward drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Gracie is on top in guard.

Gracie advances position into side control!

Gracie is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Ward has escaped the position, nice work there.
Ward is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Gracie asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Ward on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Ward tries to get out of the position.

Gracie wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Ward, who protects the arm well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ward stops Gracie from passing to mount.
Ward tries to escape but Gracie is in control.

Gracie goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Ward has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Gracie but great work by Ward.
Ward in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Ward is putting a hurting on Gracie here, landing some big shots from side control.
Gracie is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

It looks like Lucia Gracie has been cut.
Gracie wants to control but Ward postures up.
Gracie tries to buck Ward off but Ward is having none of it.

That has opened up Lucia Gracie 's cut even more.

Ward lands a strong strike to the head of Gracie . That's dazed him! Ward looking to finish here. Gracie is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Ward lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!

In his post fight interview, Paddy Ward started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
