The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lawal dodges the punch combination from Fjordsson.
Nice defenses there by Lawal.
Lawal takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Fjordsson lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Fjordsson misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Lawal counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Fjordsson misses the shot to the body.
Fjordsson misses with a straight right.
Fjordsson tests Lawal's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Lawal tries for a takedown but Fjordsson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Fjordsson misses the body punch
and Lawal cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

It looks like Helbjorn Fjordsson has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Fjordsson takes a swing at Lawal's ribcage but misses.
Helbjorn Fjordsson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fjordsson goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Lawal keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Fjordsson.
Fjordsson backing away here, and Lawal unleashes a leg kick that just misses.
Lawal displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Fjordsson throws out the jab.

and Lawal counters with a leg kick then a big left hand that sends Fjordsson down! Lawal is looking to finish but Fjordsson is intelligently defending himself.

Lawal arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Fjordsson's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!

A relieved looking Solomon Lawal thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
