Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Darren Myles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Myles kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Red Hot Chili Peppers - Can't Stop. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Darren Myles!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 11 - 0, fighting out of London, John Brown!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Ian Loll and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Myles misses with a combination
and Brown counters with a one-two to the body.
A left and a right from Myles both land. Nice combination.


It looks like John Brown has been cut.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Brown, as that shot connected.


It looks like Darren Myles has been cut.
Myles looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Myles misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Brown counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Myles misses with a series of wild punches.

Brown fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Myles sprawls well initially but Brown persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Brown tries to pass the half guard into mount. Myles knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Myles has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Brown is on him like a limpet, forcing Myles back against the cage.

Myles is fighting off a takedown attempt but Brown is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Myles to the mat. Myles regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Brown stands and throws Myles's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Sloppy strikes there by Brown.
Brown lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Myles down.

Brown pulls Myles in close to his closed guard and prevents Myles from doing any damage or advancing position.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Myles has hold of Brown's hands but Brown slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

John Brown dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's time! Myles's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Myles looks to land a right hand but Brown moved out of range.
Brown shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Brown looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
It looked like Myles was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Darren Myles has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Brown.
Myles smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Brown tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Myles defends well and Brown ends up having to push Myles into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Brown throws a sloppy strike and Myles uses the opportunity to reverse the position! A bit of a scramble here and Myles has ended up in Brown's guard.
Brown lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Brown shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Myles is trying to defend but Brown finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Well, with Brown on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Myles is tapping out... Can he escape the position?
Brown's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Brown lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.

What can Myles do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
