Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the featherweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Matti Teitsi!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Teitsi thuds his shin into the meat of Dekkers's side.
Teitsi throws the left hand but Dekkers avoids the punch easily.

Teitsi scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Teitsi connects with a nice short shot to Dekkers's temple.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Teitsi lands a nice short elbow.

Teitsi darts in looking for a takedown but Dekkers gets double underhooks and turns Teitsi into the cage.
Dekkers throws a big counter combination but Teitsi scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Matti Teitsi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Teitsi shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Dekkers as he jumps to the side.

Teitsi drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Teitsi feints and then cracks Dekkers's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Dekkers down.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Teitsi lands a nice looking body shot.
Teitsi fails to land the takedown.
Dekkers wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Dekkers's Muay Thai looks sharper than normal. He has obviously been working on it in the gym.
Bas Dekkers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matti Teitsi.
Teitsi connects with a body shot that sends Dekkers's belly button to the back.
Teitsi swings for the body but Dekkers moves out of range.

It looks like Matti Teitsi has been cut.

Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Dekkers obliges.

Dekkers is pushing Teitsi up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

I would just about give that final round to Matti Teitsi.
I think Teitsi has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
