Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gabriel Souza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fedor Emelyanenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Emelyanenko shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Souza napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Souza can't do much from the bottom here.
Souza tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Emelyanenko wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Emelyanenko really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Souza. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Souza manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Souza seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Emelyanenko does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Souza is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Emelyanenko is just riding it out for now. Souza eventually gives up the hold.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Emelyanenko can do anything to dispel that myth.
Souza thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Emelyanenko's head.
