Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Aziz Shavershian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hans Beijer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shavershian comes to the cage accompanied by John O'callaghan - Zyzz Version V2, - Find Yourself feat. Sarah Howells (Re. The crowd seem to be enjoying Beijer's choice of entrance music: David hasselhoff - Looking for freedome. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 11 - 1, fighting out of London, Aziz Shavershian!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Hans Beijer!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Shirou Masuda and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shavershian thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Beijer if he has to take too many more of those.
A slow jab from Shavershian misses its intended target.
Shavershian closes the distance and clinches up with Beijer, looking for a takedown. Shavershian pushes Beijer against the cage but Beijer circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Beijer throws a front kick aimed at Shavershian's knee but Shavershian avoids it well.
Shavershian tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Beijer swivels and escapes.
Beijer jabs Shavershian right on the nose. Shavershian blinks but takes it well.

We've been hearing reports that Shavershian has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Shavershian went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Beijer bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Shavershian's head backwards.
Shavershian ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Shavershian scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Beijer doesn't seem bothered though.

Shavershian tries to sprawl but Beijer drives through with a takedown into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Shavershian has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Beijer is working away from the top position though.
Beijer wants to take a breather but Shavershian is having none of it.

Shavershian on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Shavershian is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Beijer scores with a couple of nice shots.
Shavershian is looking to improve his position.
Beijer has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Beijer looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Shavershian with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Shavershian wants to control but Beijer is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Beijer winds up and cracks Shavershian with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Beijer is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Shavershian has managed to free his arm - good work.
Shavershian is trying to maintain the position but Beijer is very close to passing his half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Shavershian counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

That was a close second round but I would say that Aziz Shavershian will probably get the nod.

It looks like Aziz Shavershian has been cut.
Shavershian is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Beijer is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Shavershian is hurt! He's hurt bad - Beijer fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Shavershian from any more punishment! Congratulations to Beijer! Great finish!

In his post fight interview, Hans Beijer started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
