Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Edward Dominguez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Huginius (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Edward Dominguez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, John Huginius!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, David Hoff and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Huginius plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

Dominguez shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Huginius is looking to get back to is feet but Dominguez passes into side control.
Huginius is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Dominguez has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Dominguez misses with an attempted mid kick.
An inside leg kick lands from Dominguez.

Huginius has Dominguez up against the cage in a clinch.

Dominguez lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Dominguez is working for a kimura but Huginius is defending it quite comfortably.

Dominguez is taking a breather. Huginius says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Huginius really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dominguez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Huginius is trying to control but can't.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Huginius is staying active underneath Dominguez, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Huginius on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Dominguez connects with a nice short shot to Huginius's temple.

Dominguez is looking for a kimura here.

Huginius is defending against the submission attempts here by Dominguez.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Huginius leaves Dominguez with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
No luck for Huginius with that takedown attempt.
Dominguez shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Huginius shoots in for a double leg but Dominguez sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Huginius gets to his feet. Dominguez looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Dominguez can't break the clinch.
Dominguez tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Huginius just stands there and leans against the cage.

Huginius manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Dominguez content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Huginius seems keen to control Dominguez's posture.

Huginius shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Dominguez is trying to defend but Huginius finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Dominguez moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Dominguez is on top in guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that Edward Dominguez will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Dominguez shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Huginius pinned against the cage. Huginius gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Dominguez closes this distance looking for a takedown but Huginius circles away.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Huginius tries to score a body lock takedown but Dominguez shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

John Huginius comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Huginius has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
