The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hoi shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Tavares closes the distance and clinches.
Hoi cracks Tavares with a nice body shot.
Hoi stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Hoi blocks a body shot from Tavares.
Tavares misses with a punch to the body.
I was talking to Hoi's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Hoi can't find room to land a body shot as Tavares controls the action.
Hoi lands a shot to the body.
Hoi lands a left hand that snaps the head of Tavares backwards.
Hoi working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Tavares.

Tavares's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Hoi creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Hoi goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Hoi digs a right hand underneath Tavares's ribcage. Tavares let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Hoi throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Hoi lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Hoi manages to break the clinch.

Tavares has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Hoi.
Hoi fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Tavares looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Hoi feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Tavares sprawling to the canvas! Tavares rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Hoi finish him?!

Tavares is rocked!

Hoi rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Tavares moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Hoi scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Hoi moves out of range of the strikes.

Hoi lands a big right hand that sends Tavares crashing to the mat! Hoi stays standing though and waves Tavares back to his feet!
Tavares is still on wobbly legs! Can Hoi finish him?
Hoi keeps Tavares at a distance using the push kick.
Hoi scoring well with a low kick there.
Tavares on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Tavares takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Hoi lands a nice looking kick to the body. Tavares takes a step back to recover.
Tavares ducks into an uppercut from Hoi and that's knocked him out cold! This one is all over!
