Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kieta Vivian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyler Barrol (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vivian fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Barrol looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Barrol stuffs the takedown attempt from Vivian. Vivian gets slowly back to his feet.
Barrol throws out a counter right but Vivian avoids it with no problem.
Kieta Vivian seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Vivian shoots in for a takedown but Barrol shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kieta Vivian. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Vivian shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Barrol pinned against the cage. Barrol gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Barrol counters with a nice right hand that sends Vivian toppling to the canvas! Vivian scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Barrol finish him?!

Barrol clinches with his opponent.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Vivian is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Barrol pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Barrol looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
A short body shot lands from Barrol as the two fighters clinch.
Vivian is looking to take this one to the mat.

Barrol pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Barrol instigates a clinch.
Barrol lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Barrol wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Vivian has him pressed against the cage.

Barrol lands a shoulder strike.
Barrol stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Barrol lands a left hand.
Barrol is pushing Vivian up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Barrol pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Vivian gets tackled into the cage by Barrol. Barrol maintains the clinch.

Vivian has clasped his hands together around Barrol's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Vivian working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Barrol tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Vivian wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Vivian has hold of Barrol's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Barrol tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Vivian cranks the arm and Barrol screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Barrol, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
