Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Vince Savage!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Matt Adkins!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Daniel Blasius and Wagner Zegers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Adkins closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Savage's guard.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Adkins working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Adkins postures up in Savage's guard and throws a big left but Savage blocks it.
Adkins pushes down on Savage's leg and manages to get into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Adkins content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Savage is staying active underneath Adkins, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Savage is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Adkins's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Adkins's back!
Savage tries to keep control of the position but Adkins is staying busy.
Adkins rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Adkins is looking for a sweep. Savage is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Adkins is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Savage perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Adkins is not content to let Savage control the position.
Adkins is holding on to half guard well.
Adkins kicks Savage off and gets back to his feet.
Savage darts in looking for a takedown but Adkins gets double underhooks and turns Savage into the cage.
Oooooh!!! Adkins has knocked Savage down with a huge combo! Adkins steps away and waves a wobbly Savage back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
It looks like Vince Savage has been cut.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Savage.
Adkins is trying to improve his position.
What's Adkins going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle.
Adkins can't do much from the bottom here.
Savage wants to lay and pray for a moment but Adkins keeps working.

Adkins stuck in half guard on the bottom here.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Adkins wants to control but Savage postures up.
Savage is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Adkins is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Adkins throws Savage to one side and escapes!
Adkins drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Adkins is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Savage tries to improve position but can't.
Adkins trying to control the position but Savage is working away.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Adkins creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Savage sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Savage manages to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Matt Adkins dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Vince Savage's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Savage shoots in but Adkins avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Savage gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Adkins counters with a straight right hand.
Savage is rocked!
Matt Adkins seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Adkins darts in and clinches Savage up against the cage.
Oh Savage is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Savage could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Adkins breaks the clinch.
Savage backs away from a small jab... but Adkins lunges forward with a huge superman punch! Savage crumples to the ground as his mouth piece is sent flying! Adkins with a spectacular finish!
