Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kostas Karelis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Javier Martinez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Karelis might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Sail - AwolNation. Martinez comes into a darkened arena with his song building. ACDC - War Machine (Live) kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Kostas Karelis has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circling - Karelis throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Karelis tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Martinez counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Martinez throws a looping overhand right but Karelis ducks down to avoid it.
Martinez lands a really nice looking cross but Karelis seems unphased.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Martinez has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Martinez slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Karelis moves into the clinch.
I was talking to Karelis's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Karelis tries to throw a body punch but Martinez avoids it by throwing Karelis back against the cage.
Karelis lands a good knee to the midsection. Martinez won't want to take too many of those.
