The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva closes the distance and clinches up with Liddell, looking for a takedown. Silva pushes Liddell against the cage but Liddell circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Liddell scores with a nice strike.

Silva doesn't manage to clinch there - Liddell circles away.
Liddell lands with an uppercut that bounces Silva off the cage and back into rage.
Silva shoots in but no luck this time.

Silva tries to close the distance and clinch but Liddell swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Liddell lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

Silva shoots in looking for a takedown. Liddell tries to sprawl out of it but Silva keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Liddell manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Silva shoots in for a double leg but Liddell sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Liddell closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Chuck Liddell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Oh Silva is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Liddell has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Silva seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Liddell shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Silva is backing up but Liddell catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Silva covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Liddell Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!
