Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sandy Osborne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mick Wager (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mick Wager will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Sandy Osborne!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mick Wager!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Micheangelo Fripello and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Osborne moves out of range of the body kick.

Wager forces Osborne back against the cage and clinches.

Osborne drags the fight down to the ground.
Wager passes Osborne's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Wager stands up from half guard.

Osborne instigates a clinch.
Wager lands a good knee to the midsection. Osborne won't want to take too many of those.
Wager managing to block the knees to the body from Osborne.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Osborne tries to pull guard but Wager holds him up against the cage and eventually Osborne drops back down to his feet.
Wager tries for a takedown but Osborne manages to get underhooks.

Wager pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Osborne tries to clinch but Wager moves out of range.

Wager has managed to clinch.

Wager pulls guard effortlessly.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Wager pulls Osborne in close to prevent any damage.

Wager scrambles and gets back to his feet.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Wager drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

It looks like Sandy Osborne has been cut.
You can see the frustration on Osborne's face as Wager controls the position.
Osborne is trying to control Wager's posture but Wager avoids it.

Wager decides to stand back up.
Osborne tries to close the distance and clinch up but Wager swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Wager avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Wager feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Wager has gone for a leg lock! Osborne slips out almost immediately though and dives into Wager's guard.

Osborne knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Wager on the ground.

Wager is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Wager has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Osborne is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Wager has clasped his hands together around Osborne's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Wager working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Wager decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Osborne displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Wager.

Wager gets tackled into the cage by Osborne. Osborne maintains the clinch.
Osborne tries to work over Wager's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Wager breaks from the clinch.
Wager's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Osborne connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Wager scrambles back to his feet.
Osborne throws a series of punches but Wager avoids them all with ease.
Wager feints the counter takedown.

Wager clinches up with Osborne and pushes him back against the cage.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Wager escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Wager shoots in and bounces Osborne off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Wager looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Osborne might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Wager working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Osborne keeping moving, preventing Wager from controlling successfully.

Wager drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Wager jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Wager won't allow Osborne to sweep him here.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Wager throws a big right hand that misses.

Osborne is working an open guard so Wager takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Wager drives through with a takedown into guard.
Wager controlling from the top position.

Wager has gone for a leg lock! Osborne slips out almost immediately though and dives into Wager's guard.

Wager will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Wager is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.


Wager is looking for a kimura here.
Wager thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Mick Wager has got the better of the ground game so far.

Wager looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Wager passes the guard and advances to mount!
Wager lands a nice shot to the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mick Wager showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Wager throws a head kick but Osborne moves out of range.

Wager clinches up against the cage.
Wager tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Osborne just stands there and leans against the cage.

Wager escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Wager shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Osborne napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Osborne dodges the ground and pound from Wager.

Osborne takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Wager is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Osborne looks calm but he's in trouble here. Wager gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Osborne is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Wager lets go of the hold and Osborne can pop his arm back in it's socket.
