Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Felton Potts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zach Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Felton Potts!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Zach Martin!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Trevor Gratis and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martin scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Potts doesn't seem bothered though.
Martin looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Potts shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Martin manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Potts lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Potts content to stall in guard here.
Potts chips away with some ground and pound.
Potts is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Martin pulls Potts in close to prevent any damage.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Potts slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Potts really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Potts breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Potts decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Martin is looking for a sweep. Potts is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Potts thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Potts in particular looking to stall.
Potts has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Potts thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Martin's head.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Potts has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Potts is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
Potts seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Martin for as long as he can get away with.
This is a sustained period of stalling by Potts.

Potts wants to break free but Martin has control.
Potts jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Martin walks away with a smile on his face. Potts gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Potts tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Martin defends well and Potts ends up having to push Martin into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

and Potts counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Potts shoots in and bounces Martin off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Potts won't allow Martin to sweep him here.
Martin is breathing heavily.

Potts lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Potts throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Felton Potts overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Martin is working an open guard so Potts takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Potts throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Martin tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Potts is in Martin's guard.
Martin wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Potts manages to pass to side control.
Potts will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Potts working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Potts shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Martin sprawls well. Martin wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Potts gets slowly back to his feet.
Martin swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

Potts has taken the fight to the clinch.

Potts ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Potts no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Potts is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Martin takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Martin must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Martin wants to hit a switch here but Potts passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Martin there!

The referee warns Martin that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Potts is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Martin is in real trouble.
Potts has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Martin's body.
Potts's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Potts, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
