Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Reid Monroe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nate Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Reid Monroe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nate Diaz!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Diaz fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Monroe to the ground. Diaz is now in Monroe's guard.

Diaz gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Monroe rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Diaz moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Diaz is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Nate Diaz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Diaz throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Monroe was covering up waiting for the punch and Diaz finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Monroe pushes Diaz off and gets back to his feet.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Diaz looking to score a takedown here. Monroe is defending well but Diaz drives through and ends up in Monroe's guard.
Monroe wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Diaz manages to pass to side control.

Diaz is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Monroe is looking for a sweep. Diaz is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Diaz takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Monroe tries to kick Diaz off in order to stand up. Diaz Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
A control attempt from Monroe but he's now mounted!

Monroe is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Diaz tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Monroe tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Diaz is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Monroe has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Monroe could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Diaz throws a push kick but Monroe slaps the foot to one side.

Diaz shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Diaz is controlling the pace.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Diaz stops Monroe from getting back to his feet.
Monroe wants to stand back up but Diaz manages to pass into side control.
Monroe might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Diaz happy to just control the position for now.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Monroe taking punishment in the form of punches.

Diaz wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Monroe, who protects the arm well.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Diaz has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Diaz dives in and scores a takedown into Monroe's guard.
Monroe wants to get back to his feet but Diaz passes into half guard.

Monroe tries to get to full guard but Diaz has control of the leg.
Diaz perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Monroe wants to get back to his feet.
Diaz trying to control the pace.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nate Diaz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!



Diaz looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Diaz controlling the action here.
Diaz is continuing to stall.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Monroe tries to kick Diaz off in order to stand up. Diaz Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

Diaz moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Diaz wants to lay and pray for a moment but Monroe keeps working.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Diaz cracks Monroe with an elbow. That is naaassty.

Diaz decides to stand back up. Diaz steps back and let's Monroe get back to his feet.

Diaz fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Monroe sprawls well initially but Diaz persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Monroe pushes Diaz off but Diaz dives into side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Diaz is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Monroe's shoulder. That is not cool.
Diaz trying to control the action but Monroe is working from the bottom.
Diaz takes a little break here. Monroe wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Monroe is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Diaz is controlling him well.
Nate Diaz is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
You can see the frustration on Monroe's face as Diaz controls the position.
Diaz is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

I've got Diaz winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
