Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jude Curtis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jake Diaz!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Cecil Peabody and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Diaz bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
You can see the frustration on Curtis's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Diaz is trying to ground and pound but Curtis uses the momentary lack of control by Diaz to regain half guard.
Curtis controlling the position well.
Diaz is just content to waste time from the top position. Curtis takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Diaz trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Diaz trying to control the position from guard on top but Curtis is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Curtis wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Diaz tries to free his leg and advance position but Curtis is retaining full guard.
Diaz loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Diaz misses with a body shot.
Curtis appears to be looking for a big counter.
Diaz tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
A head kick from Diaz lands but Curtis takes it in his stride.

Curtis closes the distance and clinches.
Curtis wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Diaz has him pressed against the cage.
Diaz tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Diaz keeps control of Curtis as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Curtis has Diaz pressed against the cage, preventing Diaz from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.

Diaz pulls guard effortlessly.
Diaz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Curtis. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Curtis distracts Diaz with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Curtis drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Curtis jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Curtis postures up and lands a big shot to Diaz's brow.
Curtis lands a couple of digs.
Curtis throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Diaz works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Curtis postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Curtis postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Curtis keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Diaz's head.
Curtis lands a couple of elbows.
Curtis lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Curtis content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Diaz looks winded!
Curtis lands a couple of elbows.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jude Curtis dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Diaz tries to clinch but Curtis is having none of it.
It looked like Curtis was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Diaz fails in his attempt to clinch.
Curtis appears to be looking for a big counter.
Curtis shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Diaz but Diaz pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Diaz lands a big head kick that sends Curtis tumbling to the mat! Diaz takes a step backwards and waves Curtis back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Curtis is rocked!


It looks like Jude Curtis has been cut.
Curtis is keeping his hands low and just asking to be knocked out. Diaz Raises his leg and lands a stunning axe kick! Curtis is out cold, face down on the mat!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Jake Diaz!
