The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bateman waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Wakefield.
Wakefield throws a sloppy head kick and Bateman moves out of range easily.
Patrick Bateman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bateman just misses with a punch to the body.

Bateman shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Wakefield manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Bateman sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Wakefield's guard.

Bateman is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Bateman is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bateman is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Wakefield pushes Bateman off looking to stand but Bateman dives back in and keeps control.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Bateman scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Wakefield kicks Bateman off and gets back to his feet.
Dean Wakefield is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Bateman blocks a head kick by Wakefield.
Wakefield throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

A head kick lands from Wakefield that sends Bateman to the canvas. Bateman tries to scramble back to his feet but Wakefield brings him back down into side control.

It looks like Patrick Bateman has been cut.
Bateman tries to improve position but can't.
Bateman sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Bateman is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Wakefield's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Wakefield's back!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Wakefield is keeping busy.

Wakefield defends a prolonged rear naked choke attempt and turns nicely into his opponent's guard.

Bateman looking for a triangle here. Wakefield is fighting it but it looks tight! Bateman pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Wakefield is tapping out - this one is all over!
