The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Nelson misses with a hook from the clinch.
Gracie blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Nelson.
Gracie has Nelson pressed against the cage.
Gracie stalling in the clinch.
Gracie seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.
Gracie throws an elbow but it misses.
Gracie trying to land knees to the body.
A head punch on the inside from Nelson fails to land.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Nelson.
Nelson trying to stall but Gracie improves his position.

Gracie breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Gracie.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nelson moves to clinch but Gracie breaks away

and Gracie counters with a single leg into guard. Nelson didn't expect that.
Gracie looking to sit in guard and control but Nelson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Nelson wants to pass the guard but Gracie is keeping the position.
Gracie is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Nelson trying to control the position from guard on top but Gracie is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Gracie pulls Nelson in close to prevent any damage.

Nelson is posturing up here but Gracie has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Nelson tries to roll out but it's too tight and Nelson has to tap! Slick submission there by Gracie!

After winning the bout, Rollo Gracie thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
