Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tommy Johnstone!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ted Danson!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Alec Ball and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnstone tries to clinch but Danson is having none of it.
Danson circles away from the clinch attempt.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

so Danson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Danson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Danson postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Johnstone can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Danson controls the pace.

Johnstone wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Danson is now in half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Johnstone is trying to maintain the position but Danson is very close to passing his half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ted Danson dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Danson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Johnstone looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Danson throws an elbow but Johnstone slips to the side and avoids it well.

Johnstone is pushing Danson's head away, looking to escape. Danson manages to hold on to the position though.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Danson prevents Johnstone from escaping the position.

Despite being in the dominant position, Ted Danson just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Danson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Danson is breathing heavily.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Danson fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ted Danson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Despite being in the dominant position, Ted Danson just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Danson gets a clinch.
Johnstone throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Danson blocks it with crossed arms.

Danson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

and Danson counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Danson throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Danson controlling from the top position.
Danson won't allow Johnstone to get back to his feet.
Tommy Johnstone has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Johnstone could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Danson works over Johnstone with some ground and pound from guard.

Danson stands and steps away. Johnstone gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Tommy Johnstone is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Johnstone darts in trying to clinch

and Danson counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Danson is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Johnstone not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Danson won't allow Johnstone to get back to his feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
Ted Danson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Danson winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
