PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Park Jae Sung (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Waldemir Warzecha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jae Sung comes to the cage accompanied by Gangnam Style by PSY. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Waldemir Warzecha was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 31 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Park Jae Sung!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Waldemir Warzecha!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Yves DeLean and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Warzecha.
Warzecha landing a few strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jae Sung is looking for a sweep.

Warzecha is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Jae Sung is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Jae Sung manages to work his way to half guard, despite Warzecha's best efforts.
Warzecha looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Jae Sung with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Jae Sung is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Warzecha's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Warzecha's back!

Jae Sung wants to control the pace but Warzecha is squirming around nicely.
Warzecha is looking to improve his position but Jae Sung isn't that keen on the idea.

Jae Sung is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Jae Sung controlling well, preventing Warzecha from escaping the position.

I really don't envy Warzecha right now.
Warzecha turns into Jae Sung and is now in his guard.

Jae Sung looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Warzecha is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Warzecha moves into full mount! Jae Sung won't be happy about that!

Warzecha is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Jae Sung to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Jae Sung shrugs it off.
Jae Sung tries to reverse the position but Warzecha maintains control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Warzecha lands a big shot there that rocks Jae Sung but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Warzecha is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Jae Sung can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jae Sung takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Oh Jae Sung is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Warzecha is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Jae Sung can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Jae Sung slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Nice strikes from Warzecha there.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Warzecha connects with a nice short shot to Jae Sung's temple.
Warzecha lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Jae Sung quite badly. Jae Sung pulls Warzecha in close trying to recover. Warzecha postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Jae Sung on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Jae Sung doesn't seem to be complaining too much.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Waldemir Warzecha!
During a confident post fight interview, Waldemir Warzecha thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
