And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Vladimir Khabensky and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Woodward closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pavlenko manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Woodward keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Pavlenko is stalling here.
Pavlenko unloads a knee to the mid-section.
The referee calls for Pavlenko to work.
Woodward tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Pavlenko scores with a shot to the side of Woodward's head.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Pavlenko.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
The crowd are getting on Pavlenko's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch.

Pavlenko breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Pavlenko has closed the distance and engaged Woodward in a clinch.
A head punch on the inside from Woodward fails to land.

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Woodward tries to pull guard but Pavlenko won't allow it.

Woodward is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Pavlenko escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Woodward avoids a punch combination nicely.
Woodward throws a counter high kick but Pavlenko was just alert enough to avoid it.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Pavlenko breaks from the clinch.
Woodward really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Pavlenko lands a nice looking kick to the body. Woodward takes a step back to recover.
Pavlenko tests Woodward's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Pavlenko clinches.
Pavlenko lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Woodward backwards.

Pavlenko's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Woodward gets tackled into the cage by Pavlenko. Pavlenko maintains the clinch.
Woodward is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Pavlenko pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Dimitri Pavlenko is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Woodward blocks a head kick by Pavlenko.
Pavlenko jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.

Pavlenko has taken the fight to the clinch.
Pavlenko landing knees to the body.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Pavlenko moves into range and clinches up with Woodward.
Pavlenko displaying some good clinch control by pressing Woodward up against the cage.
Pavlenko gets underhooks to prevent Woodward's takedown attempt.
Woodward is breathing heavily.
Pavlenko blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Woodward misses with a short punch on the inside.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dimitri Pavlenko dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Pavlenko throws a head kick that half lands.


Woodward is rocked!
Pavlenko closes the distance and lands a crisp combination that knocks Woodward out cold! Woodward corner are devastated, head in hands behind our commentary position. Poor guys.
