The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Damien Edna and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Veitayaki shoots and misses
and Pickering counters with a straight right hand.
A low kick from Veitayaki misses
and Pickering counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Veitayaki moves in looking to clinch but Pickering pushes him off.
Veitayaki shoots in but no luck this time.
Pickering appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Veitayaki with a lazy takedown attempt
letting Pickering counter with a right hand.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ilivasi Veitayaki. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Pickering, as that shot connected.
Veitayaki misses with a leg kick
and Pickering counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Pickering digs a good hook to Veitayaki's body.
Veitayaki closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Veitayaki needs to keep his hands up - Pickering had a free shot at his head there.
Ilivasi Veitayaki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Pickering lands the left hand.
A jab lands there for Pickering.
Veitayaki gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Pickering counters with a nice uppercut.

and Pickering counters with a stiff right hand.

Pickering lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Veitayaki at a distance.

and Pickering counters with a crisp right hand that drops Veitayaki! Pickering lets Veitayaki back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Veitayaki is rocked!
Pickering dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Pickering feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Veitayaki sprawling to the canvas! Veitayaki rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Pickering finish him?!
Oh Veitayaki is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Pickering drops Veitayaki with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Veitayaki! Pickering dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
