Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jude Curtis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yang Lei (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jude Curtis has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jude Curtis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yang Lei!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Tiny Johnson and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Curtis drives through with a takedown into guard.
Lei looking to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lei working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Curtis.

Lei is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Curtis is looking to work some ground and pound but Lei has wrist control.
Lei wants to sweep here but Curtis controlling him for the moment.
Curtis won't allow Lei to get back to his feet.

Curtis drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Lei dives on top into guard.

Curtis not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Lei's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Lei trying to control but Curtis is working from the bottom.
Lei tries to stand but Curtis is controlling from the bottom.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Curtis being controlled here, momentarily.
Lei trying to control the position from guard on top but Curtis is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Curtis closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Curtis lands in his opponent's guard.
Curtis throws a big elbow that misses.

Curtis drops back, looking for a kneebar! Lei looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Lei looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Lei!

Lei throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Curtis works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
Lei tries to stand and escape but Curtis is controlling the position.
Lei is taking a breather. Curtis says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Lei is pressing down on Curtis's thigh, looking to free his foot. Curtis is holding on for now.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Lei takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Lei wants to pass the guard but Curtis is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lei performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Lei misses with a head shot. Curtis uses the momentum to regain guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Lei looking to sit in guard and control but Curtis gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jude Curtis will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Curtis feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Lei wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Curtis manages to pass to side control.

Lei wants to control but Curtis is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Lei is looking to improve his position.
Curtis not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Curtis is looking for a kimura here.
Curtis missing with the ground and pound from half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Curtis seems to be looking for submissions.
Lei trying to get back to full guard but Curtis takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!
Lei tries to lock up and control but Curtis gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Curtis is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Lei has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Curtis throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Curtis is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Lei can do to turn this around?

Lei is trying to escape the mount.
Curtis punishing his opponent with strikes.

Curtis goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Lei is on top in guard.
Lei sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Curtis's guard.
Lei is looking to take a break and control but Curtis is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Jude Curtis overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Lei thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Curtis is not content to let Lei control the position.
Curtis regains full guard. Nicely done.

Curtis has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lei can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Lei lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Lei forces his way into half guard.
Lei drops an elbow to the side of Curtis's head.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Lei is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Lei seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Lei's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jude Curtis will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!



Lei fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Curtis, pushing him back against the cage.
Lei slowing the pace effectively.

Lei manages to break the clinch.

Lei lands a big head kick that sends Curtis tumbling to the mat! Lei takes a step backwards and waves Curtis back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Curtis is rocked!


It looks like Jude Curtis has been cut.

Lei shoots in for a takedown. He's got it... He's hoisted his opponent over his head and is carrying him over to the other end of the mat. The crowd roars in approval and Lei slams his opponent to the mat. OH, that is naaaaaasty! He's out! Lei lands a punch to his unconscious victim for good measure before the ref has time to call the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:42 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Slam). Yang Lei!
