The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodriguez throws a hook to the side of Williams's head but Williams sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Rodriguez tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Williams cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Rodriguez throws a combination that misses
and Williams makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Rodriguez tries to clinch up but Williams circles away and keeps his distance.
Rodriguez tests Williams's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Rodriguez lands a really nice looking cross but Williams seems unphased.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Williams breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Rodriguez looks to land a combination but Williams avoids it well.
Williams feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Rodriguezs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Rodriguez bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Rodriguez drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Williams defends it well.
Rodriguez moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

and Rodriguez takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Rodriguez rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Williams moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Rodriguez throws a right hand that Williams ducks under and follows up with a left that Williams also avoids with ease.

and Williams counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Alberto Rodriguez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rodriguez takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Rodriguez is still on wobbly legs! Can Williams finish him?
Williams is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Rodriguez flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Rodriguez is out cold! Williams holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!
