Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between DeAndre Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alk Manik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, DeAndre Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alk Manik!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Ivan Kurochkin and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jackson shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Manik manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Manik drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Jackson manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Manik has Jackson in his guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Manik throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Jackson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Manik is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Jackson is aware though and is defending well.

Manik is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

That was a close round but I would say that DeAndre Jackson will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Manik goes for a double leg but Jackson avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Jackson continues to drive forward.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to DeAndre Jackson.
Well Jackson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
