PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alfons Porro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tom Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Porro comes into the arena with La presó del rei de França blaring out of the sound system. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Chris Downing and Wesley Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones misses with an uppercut
and Porro counters with a straight right hand.
Porro ducks under a wild hook from Jones.
Porro throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Jones leaves Porro with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
A left lands for Jones.

It looks like Alfons Porro has been cut.
Tom Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Porro rushes Jones and presses him up against the cage.
Jones is trying to force a seperation but Porro has the dominant position.
Jones scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Jones lands a right hand.

Porro drags the fight down to the ground.
Jones tries to stand but Porro is controlling from the bottom.
Porro manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jones manages to get himself to full guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Porro controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Porro passes into half guard.
Porro missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Porro throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Porro sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Jones defending well though.
Porro is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Porro decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Porro fails with an attempt to clinch.
Jones scores with a jab to the head.
Porro throws a series of punches but Jones avoids them all with ease.
A telegraphed right hand from Jones misses the target.
Porro takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Porro pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Jones throws an overhand right that lands on Porro's shoulder, as Porro tries to avoid the shot.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Jones sends Porro crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Jones is motioning to the referee to let Porro up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Porro is rocked!
Porro bobbing and weaving nicely... He's ducked under a jab and ducks again but ooooooh! Jones comes at him with an uppercut from hell! Porro falls to the canvas, unconscious! This one is all over! Oh man, looking at the replay that was right on the button! Porro was out before he hit the floor!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Tom Jones!
