Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Diego Chavez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Billy Bailey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bailey has Chavez up against the cage in a clinch.

Chavez tries to throw a body punch but Bailey avoids it by throwing Chavez back against the cage.
Bailey lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Bailey is pressed up against the cage. Chavez has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Bailey down to the mat. Bailey avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Bailey has closed the distance and engaged Chavez in a clinch.
Bailey has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Chavez avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Chavez is looking to control Bailey's arms but Bailey gets an underhook and turns him. Now Chavez has his back to the cage.

It looks like Diego Chavez has been cut.

Chavez tries to pull guard but Bailey holds him up against the cage and eventually Chavez drops back down to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bailey lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Chavez or not.
Bailey tries to throw a body punch but Chavez avoids it by throwing Bailey back against the cage.

Chavez jumps guard and drags Bailey to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Chavez is adopting a defensive guard.
Bailey's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Chavez is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Chavez trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

Bailey slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Bailey instigates a clinch.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Bailey creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Bailey stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Bailey presses Chavez against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Chavez is looking for a takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Diego Chavez. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bailey is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Bailey works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Chavez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Chavez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Chavez seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
A punch lands to the side of Chavez 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Chavez shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Bailey sprawls well. Bailey wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Chavez gets slowly back to his feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Chavez tries to clinch there but Bailey circles away.

Bailey weaves into range and cracks Chavez right on the temple with a beautiful overhand right! Chavez goes down! He's out cold! Wow, what a beautiful knockout! Bailey is strutting round the canvas like a movie star as the camera bulbs flash frantically.
