The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith connects with a leg kick. Gunnarsson looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Smith tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Gunnarsson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Smith has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Gunnarsson is really squeezing tight and eventually Smith passes out! Gunnarsson breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
