Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Edmund Obrien (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phillip Hoyt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hoyt has chosen New Level as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Edmund Obrien!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Phillip Hoyt!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Shirou Masuda and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Obrien looks to score with a jab to the body but Hoyt is just out of range.

Obrien drives through and clinches with Hoyt against the cage.
Hoyt tries to circle away but Obrien has him pinned against the cage.
Hoyt tries to break the clinch but Obrien is controlling the position.

Obrien has Hoyt pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Obrien pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Hoyt tumbling to the mat - Obrien dives into Hoyt's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hoyt is wriggling around but Obrien manages to pass to half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hoyt is not content to let Obrien control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Obrien stalling.
Obrien is thwarting Hoyt's attempts to control the position.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Obrien perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Hoyt scores with a one two! Obrien had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.


It looks like Edmund Obrien has been cut.
A head kick by Obrien misses
and Hoyt counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Hoyt connects with a superb combination that knocks Obrien out cold! The referee charges across the mat and tackles Hoyt before he can land any more shots to the unconscious Obrien!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Phillip Hoyt!
Phillip Hoyt made sure to give a little speech post fight, saying 'Another fight, another victim falls to the Heat Seeker. Any man. Any time. Any where. Be careful what you ask for because the Heat Seeker ain't no gimmick! I don't care if the fans love me or hate me, just write the checks and pay me.'.
