Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Almeida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Danok Linus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Almeida shoots in for a takedown but Linus shows good takedown defense.
Almeida tries a head kick but it misses.
Linus changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Linus slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Almeida lands with a slapping head kick.

It looks like Linus might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Linus is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Almeida knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Linus tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Linus has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Linus is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Almeida crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Linus - the referee stops the clock and Almeida gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Linus. Almeida manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Linus scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Almeida throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Linus drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Linus looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Linus drops an elbow to the side of Almeida's head.
Linus looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Almeida with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Linus seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Danok Linus showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Thomas Almeida.
