Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fifo Judo!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Stewart Dunkirk and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Judo drives through with a takedown into Penn's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Penn pulls Judo in close to prevent any damage.
Judo preventing the sweep.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Judo accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Penn is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Penn wants to get back to his feet.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Penn looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Judo missing with punches from the bottom.
Judo is looking to get back to is feet but Penn passes into side control.

Judo trying to remain calm as Penn controls from the top position.
Judo can't do much from the bottom here.
Judo tries to improve position but can't.
A lull in the action here as Penn stalls from top position.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Judo wants to control but Penn postures up.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Judo gets caught flat footed, as Penn shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Penn looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Penn is looking to stand up but Judo won't let him.
Penn engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Penn's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Penn closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Judo trying to control here.

Penn has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Penn thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

Penn fails to move to back control.
Judo wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Penn.
Jason Dee Penn overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Penn controlling the position easily from mount.

Further stalling from Penn.
Penn seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Judo for as long as he can get away with.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Penn is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Judo is surviving well by controlling Penn's body position as best he can.

Penn looking to secure an arm triangle but Judo defends it well.

Judo regains half guard.

Judo actively working from the bottom here.
Still in half guard, Penn seems content to control.
If it seems like I'm not saying a lot, it's just because Penn is stinking the place up with his stalling.
Penn is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Judo reverses the position - he's now on top in Penn's guard.
Penn might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Judo got a little sloppy there for a moment and Penn has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Judo has managed to get both his arms back between Penn's legs - danger averted.
Penn looking for a sweep. Not yet Penn, not yet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Judo trying to control the position from guard on top but Penn is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Judo avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Judo closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Penn is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Judo's half guard.
Penn tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Judo.
Judo is trying to control but Penn passes into side control!
You can see the frustration on Judo's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Penn is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Judo knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

No joy there for Judo, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Judo takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Penn content just to control the position here.

Judo is trying desperately to improve position.
Penn manages to capitalize on a mistake by Judo to take his back!
I would not like to be Judo right now.
Judo tries to escape the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Penn controls the action.
Fifo Judo has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Jason Dee Penn is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Judo tries to roll but Penn sticks to his back.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Penn, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
