Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hale Taumalolo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nucky DIaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Nucky DIaz!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Steven Brown and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Taumalolo looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
DIaz preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
DIaz is pulling down on Taumalolo's head to control his posture.
DIaz is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
DIaz utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Taumalolo stands up over DIaz, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now DIaz is on top in guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
DIaz's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Nucky DIaz dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



DIaz shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Taumalolo napping and manages to drive through into side control!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Taumalolo is trying to control DIaz's posture but DIaz avoids it.
DIaz gets to mount! Taumalolo was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

Taumalolo is desperately trying to improve his position but DIaz has a good base and remains in mount.
Taumalolo tries to lock up and control but DIaz gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

We're seeing a lot of stalling here from DIaz.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Poor strikes thrown by DIaz there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Nucky DIaz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!



DIaz moves into the clinch successfully.
Taumalolo wants to break free but DIaz has control.
Taumalolo drops down looking for an ankle pick but DIaz pulls his leg out and moves away.

DIaz changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Taumalolo looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
A lull in the action here.

DIaz is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Taumalolo knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Taumalolo is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked DIaz off and has taken his back!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Taumalolo misses with punches from the back.
DIaz is holding onto Taumalolo's left hand, preventing any choke attempts.
Taumalolo is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at DIaz. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped.

DIaz slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as DIaz accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

DIaz passes Taumalolo's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

DIaz is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Taumalolo has managed to free his arm - good work.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
DIaz not doing much here.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Taumalolo will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
DIaz tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

DIaz closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Hale Taumalolo has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Nucky DIaz is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
DIaz moves nicely into side control.

And that's the end of the fight!
Nucky DIaz comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well DIaz has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
