The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hero closes the distance and pushes Gracie back into the cage.
Gracie blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Hero swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Hero swings wildly with an uppercut but Gracie uses good head movement to avoid it.

Gracie tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Gracie is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Hero pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Hero lands a left hand.

Gracie is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Hero gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Hero misses with a punch on the inside.

Gracie gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Gracie is breathing heavily.

Hero trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Hero looking to hit a scissor sweep but Gracie is one step ahead there.
Hero throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Gracie wants to pass the guard but Hero is keeping the position.

Gracie thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Hero manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Gracie manages to get himself to full guard.

Hero is working Gracie over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Gracie has momentary wrist control but Hero slips an elbow through the middle.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Hero stands up over Gracie, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Hero working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Gracie's head.

Oh Gracie is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Hero postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Hero gets to his feet and stands over Gracie, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Gracie felt that one! Hero unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Gracie from any more punishment!

After winning the bout, Canadian Hero thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
