Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Zach Mullens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luis Gonalez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Luis Gonalez is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Zach Mullens!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Luis Gonalez!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Alan Glass and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gonalez stuffs the takedown attempt from Mullens. Mullens gets slowly back to his feet.
Mullens showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Gonalez.
Mullens throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

Mullens bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Gonalez tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Mullens wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Gonalez sneaks back into half guard.
Gonalez gets back to full guard.
Mullens is pushing down on Gonalez's leg trying to pass to half guard. Gonalez is fighting to maintain full guard but Mullens has managed to sneak the leg through.

Gonalez won't allow Mullens to pass to mount.
Mullens thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Gonalez is pressing down on Mullens's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Gonalez uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Mullens fails with the takedown.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mullens takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Mullens shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Gonalez as he avoids it easily.

Gonalez drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Mullens defends it well.

Gonalez jumps guard and drags Mullens to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Gonalez is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Mullens is controlling him.
Gonalez is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Mullens trying to control the position from guard on top but Gonalez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Gonalez has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Mullens off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Gonalez shoots for a takedown but Mullens saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Mullens darts in looking for a takedown but Gonalez gets double underhooks and turns Mullens into the cage.

Mullens throws a head kick that misses.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Mullens throws a wild body kick that Gonalez sees coming a mile off.
Mullens has a takedown stuffed.
Gonalez throws a counter combo.

Gonalez closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Gonalez lands in his opponent's guard.
Gonalez pushes down on Mullens's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Gonalez is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Mullens defends it well.

Gonalez is nestled in close to Mullens, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Mullens has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Gonalez is on him like a limpet, forcing Mullens back against the cage.

Mullens ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Mullens no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Mullens wants to sweep here but Gonalez controlling him for the moment.
Gonalez stays in close to Mullens's body and controls the position.
Gonalez scoring with some ground and pound.

Luis Gonalez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!



Gonalez closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Gonalez wants to free his trapped foot but Mullens is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Gonalez wants to take a breather but Mullens is having none of it.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
