Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Hilario Allen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pedro Lopes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Hilario Allen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Pedro Lopes!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Paul Gruel and Josh West.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Allen feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Lopes is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lopes is continuing to stall.

Allen stands and steps away. Lopes gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Lopes is looking to clinch.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Lopes jumps into guard, dragging Allen to the mat.
Allen controlling from the top position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lopes pulls Allen in close to his closed guard and prevents Allen from doing any damage or advancing position.

Allen got a little sloppy there for a moment and Lopes has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Allen has managed to get both his arms back between Lopes's legs - danger averted.

Allen could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Allen has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Lopes is working away from the top position though.
Allen makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Allen.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Allen wants to sweep but no luck.
Lopes seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

That was a close round but I would say that Hilario Allen will probably get the nod.

Allen misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lopes accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Allen darts in and clinches Lopes up against the cage.
Lopes is trying to push Allen away but Allen has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Lopes's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Allen closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Lopes to the mat! Lopes manages to get full guard.

Lopes thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Allen might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Allen gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
A combination from Lopes does no damage.

Allen lands a takedown into guard.
Allen is pushing down on Lopes's leg trying to pass to half guard. Lopes is fighting to maintain full guard but Allen has managed to sneak the leg through.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Lopes is looking for a sweep. Allen is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Allen in particular looking to stall.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Allen moves into range and clinches up with Lopes.

Allen has picked Lopes up - he's going for a ride! Allen dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Lopes makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Allen fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Lopes, pushing him back against the cage.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Lopes is pushing Allen up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Lopes has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Allen regains guard immediately.
Lopes takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Lopes decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Lopes closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Allen did well to prevent Lopes getting side control.

Lopes working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Allen doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Allen manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

I would just about give that final round to Pedro Lopes.
Well Allen has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
